Review - Sakar International Debuts "Berry" Device For Kids
The Berry runs on two AAA batteries that are not included, but a phone line for making calls and a hands free earpiece are included.
By Brian , BargainPDA
That's right, the Berry can act as a phone as well; it just requires a landline instead of a mobile service carrier. The experience is pretty good, kids love to have their own things, and a small portable phone has a certain coolness to it. Kids will be able to talk on the phone while keeping their hands free to do homework, errr, online chat. The top piece slides off, making for a tiny tote-able phone. The dialer doesn't actually connect to the phone book, but what do you want at this price point?

IBM Issues Patch for DB2 Security Flaw
A software security expert says a DB2 vulnerability could give a low-privilege user full control of the database.
By Brian Fonseca, eWEEK.com
IBM Corp. has issued a patch for a DB2 database vulnerability that, left undetected, could let an intruder compromise administration privileges for DB2 8.1 Enterprise Edition on Microsoft Windows.
To exploit the DB2 flaw, all that is required by a perpetrator is a user ID and password. Through a guest account, an attacker could run commands as an administrator because the Remote Command Server does not drop privileges, said David Litchfield, managing director at London-based Next Generation Security Software Ltd.

Of course, there are always rugged systems that will survive these accidents.
